Are your Subpods suitable for apartments, balconies, verandas, patios or concrete?
You can install a Subpod in a location that does not have soil or grass underneath . You will need to find a garden bed that is suitable to use on your balcony (a sealed bottom or wicking garden bed). At the moment we don’t have a garden bed that we are selling ourselves, but you should be able to find one locally.
Suitable garden beds for verandahs, balconies, patios and concrete will have a hole cut-out where the worm tea outlet is so that a tap can be fitted so that the worm tea is not continually flowing out.
Instructions on how to plumb your Subpod for the worm tea is here:
In a newly built raised garden bed, a good minimum size that will also provide some food growing space is 90 cm/3 feet wide by 1.5 meters/5 feet long. If the sides of the garden bed are just over 30cm /1-foot cm high, this will take about ¾ of a cubic metre/ 1 cubic yard of soil.
