Where are the Subpods made?

Where are the Subpods made?

We carefully researched the best place to make Subpods and centred on a state of the art, best practices facility in China for several reasons:
  1. We personally visited facilities we were considering, requiring that the work environment was safe and that the employees were well treated
  2. The production technology was modern and efficient (less energy and material waste)
  3. The cost of goods was most affordable, to make Subpods available at a reasonable price for everyone to be able to afford one
  4. The ability to incorporate the maximal amount of recycled High-Density Polyethylene into the produced Subpod, without compromising the strength (bears 200 kg of weight sitting on the lid) and the long timespan we required (at least 10 years minimum, but up to 20 years)
  5. We wanted an efficient place to ship from for international reach to get the Subpod around the world with the minimum carbon footprint.
  6. We needed to invest significant money into our tooling process which required 15 tonnes of steel to make our molds.
  7. We could not find an Australian manufacturer that could produce the specialised tooling process to make our product to the high standard that we needed.
The Subpod was invented in Australia by Andrew Hayim De Vries and further developed by our team in Australia.  You can read more about the Subpod team here:

We are working closely with our manufacturing team to make sure each and every Subpod is to the highest quality.
